I am PSTC - Joey Spence
A major reason Peach State Truck Centers is the dealer of choice for large fleets and owner-operators alike is because of industry experts like Joey Spence. Joey is the shop foreman at the light duty shop in Norcross that handles repairs for medium duty Ford trucks. He is unique in that he has extensive knowledge and experience of the Ford brand and its product offerings.
With over 12 years under his belt working on Fords along with hours of classes and training courses, Joey has become what’s called a Senior Master. Only those that have worked at a Ford dealership for over five years and received every available certification for both diesel and gas technicians can be given that title. At Peach State, Joey is one of several Ford Senior Masters. They all play a major role in keeping large fleet customers’ Ford vehicles on the road.
Joey came to Peach State Norcross in January of 2020, but before that he has a lifetime of working on vehicles. Growing up, Joey’s dad owned a tractor dealership which allowed him to work on both diesel and gas engines at a young age. Knowing he wanted to continue in the same field as a professional, Joey went to tech school which eventually landed him an internship position at a Ford dealership. Joey continued on at that Ford store for a decade before joining the Peach State family.
“I really enjoy the both the family-owned and corporate aspects of Peach State,” Joey said. “The company is very customer-oriented and everyone works hard to get trucks back on the road to keep our customers happy.”
Even though Joey is a shop foreman, he has many duties that he handles under that title. When it comes to customers, Joey gets them in for a diagnosis, quotes them as quickly as possible and dispatches the work that needs to be done. Joey also handles any parts needs the customer might have and tries his best to provide a quick turnaround by getting necessary repairs scheduled.
If Joey feels that a customer can keep their vehicle on the road instead of having to wait for backordered parts or any other delay, he will let them know so that they don’t have to incur any unnecessary lost revenue while the vehicle waits for repair. With Joey’s expertise and the company’s unique facilities, Peach State is the only dealership in the state of Georgia that’s able to work on the larger chassis motorhomes.
“Joey brings extensive knowledge and experience to our Ford customers but even more notable is his leadership to the overall team,” said Norcross service manager Patrick Dickinson. “He makes everyone around him better!”
